Utility tools for Flow. Provides a few helpful functions like generating stubs and finding files that are not covered by Flow. Refer to the commands section for more. If you have suggestions for further commands, feel free to create an issue. Generates naive stubs for the packages that your project requires. This takes very very long and it is a huge pain to be waiting that long each time your web app starts. Refer to this issue for an in-depth discussion on the topic. This can be done manually or automatically via the flow-typed install command.

The flow-typed install command does fetch community libdefs and generates stubs pretty well, but has a few problems:. The flow-scripts stub command fixes some of these problems by generating the stubs required for the dependencies in package. It would be recommended to save flow-scripts as a devDependency rather than a global dependency in this case.

Searches for files matching the specified glob pattern and lists the files that do not contain flow. Files that have noflow are ignored.

If pattern is not specified, it defaults to. Please note that this commands works on files only, and not directories, hence you will have to explicitly specify a file extension.

You will also have to quote your parameter use double quotes if you need it to run in Windows. An example as follows:. Testing this library is tricky because it relies on a real project that has multiple dependencies in package. Hence we create a mock project in the fixtures folder that has some common JS dependencies defined and symlink the flow-scripts library within that project to our development file in the root folder.

Run the commands within that mock project to test that the library is actually working as intended. Skip to content. Dismiss Join GitHub today GitHub is home to over 40 million developers working together to host and review code, manage projects, and build software together.

In the simple blog example I will transfer variable values towards a MS Flow. Copy the result output and paste in as a sample JSON payload.

This will generated the required JSON schema. As second step we gone filter the array to get the values of each variable that has been propagate by the PowerShell Script.

Result of the data operations when filtering the array on the name — value. This gives us the possibility to split the array in smaller array pieces. So the answer is YES. We can transfer data from a PowerShell script towards Microsoft Flow. How cool is that!

Put intelligent workflows to work Automate time-consuming manual tasks with built-in AI capabilities, giving you more time to focus on strategic, high-value opportunities.Automation is centric to our role as IT professionals in order to make manual tasks such as managing servers, endpoints or processes, more streamlined and efficient.

However, since the proliferation of cloud technology, we're now facing a new challenge, managing and automating the cloud environment. To do this, we need tools to manage the cloud environment in the same way we managed our on-premises servers. The process follows four main steps:. For example, when running scripts in the Azure Automation environment, you can scale up or down Azure VMs, you can manage your on-premises servers without exposing your servers to the internet, managing your Office tenant and more.

This will give you a strong starting point for developing powerful solutions for your clients or organization, which will save time, money, and resources. Flow is a cloud-based automation engine with hundreds of connectors to automate tasks across multiple applications and services.

Before we get started, you need to make sure that you have access to the Azure portal or can request the creation of Azure Automation Account from the Azure Admin in your organization. For more information about Azure Automation requirements and permissions, please visit this link. The process of provisioning the Azure Automation Account and running a script in the cloud requires multiple steps:.

Navigate to portal. As we know already, to work with different workloads such as Exchange, SharePoint, Azure or Officeyou need to import the correct PowerShell modules to your scripts. Select AzureAD module and click to import, then wait until the import process completes successfully.

To streamline the script running environment, I prefer to add a special Account in my tenant, which has rights to run PowerShell Runbook in the environment. I can then use this service account to run all my Azure AD related scripts. To add the service account to your Azure Automation Account, open your Automation Account, and navigate to the credentials tab to complete the form. Runbooks are scripts that you run in the cloud. After entering your script to the script section, click Save and Publish.

Usually, your policy will restrict certain products or request a review before deployment. In your Flow, click on Add new action to add a new step and search for Azure Automation.

Or, use the same Service Account used in creating Azure Automation to create Flow, but in this case, this service account must have access to Flow and SharePoint list. Note: Automation Account — is the one we created together earlier in this blog post. The Supervisor approves the request right from the email, this approval will trigger our workflow in Microsoft Flow. And why stop there? I see huge potential here to create custom applications for your first tier support members to run high privileged scripts in your environment with a structured approval process without having to elevate privileges.

For example, they could create an eDiscovery in-place hold in Exchange Online environment without Discovery Management rights, simply by completing a mobile PowerApps form which triggers the PowerShell script to do the job.

Most of the heavy lifting is done by the PowerShell script. Since I added a button trigger, I can use it from my Flow app on my phone to lock my computer on demand. Now at the click of a button I can lock my workstation and no more prank e-mails. Get it right and nobody would know that their call is being guided. Get it wrong and the call can sound stilted. So how can we develop the best script for a contact centre?

How to run PowerShell scripts to automate manual processes in Office 365

The case for not using scripts is that the contact centre wants to empower advisors to think for themselves and engage further with their role. However, contact centre scripts are becoming more and more sophisticated in terms of structure and writing style.

Now, a good script will likely go unnoticed and will save resources in terms of advisor training, while tools can be applied to further engage advisors. It is perhaps because of these reasons that in the two years from tothe percentage of contact centres using scripts rose from The starting point for any script is to consider all possible queries that customers might ask and pair them with solutions.

Maybe just one solution is required for each query, but consider whether multiple answers are needed for different types of customers. Then map the foundation of the intended customer interaction and make sure that every iteration is covered.

That gets added later. Design a matrix of customer needs against possible solutions. Then map the foundation of the intended customer interaction. Using this process will enable you to find the basic bits of information that need to be included in your script. But you also need to consider the thought pattern of the customer who is phoning in. What emotions will they be feeling?

This is important if you want to build empathy. Only when this is done can you start to consider the structure and language of your script, for which you need to keep the following things in mind. According to Kevin Ellis, the former CEO of CallScripter, you need to consider the basic flow and set the objectives of a script before you begin to put everything together. Objectives — The main objective of the script has to be decided on before anything else can be considered.

Key factors to bear in mind include:. Determine how much information is needed by the advisor, as well as what data might need to be reported on. Are they going to be new users who may need a lot of guidance? Or experienced sellers who will be able to tackle the task in hand with no additional information? Advisor ability — You must consider the skills that the advisors involved in your project are going to have. If it is the latter, then the script is likely to be more straightforward, with fewer operator notes.

Advisor information — What do your advisors need to know? Working through a script is a challenging experience — reading, talking and listening all at the same time. A well-thought-out script will aid this process and allow the advisor to focus on the most important communication or selling techniques. And I realized how few of the grown-ups that I knew were able to withstand the tragedies that the war visited on them — how few of them could even resemble a normal, contented, satisfied, happy life once their job, their home, their security was destroyed by the war.

So I became interested in understanding what contributed to a life that was worth living. And I tried, as a child, as a teenager, to read philosophy and to get involved in art and religion and many other ways that I could see as a possible answer to that question. And finally I ended up encountering psychology by chance.

Getting Started

I was at a ski resort in Switzerland without any money to actually enjoy myself, because the snow had melted and I didn't have money to go to a movie. But I found that on the — I read in the newspapers that there was to be a presentation by someone in a place that I'd seen in the center of Zurich, and it was about flying saucers [that] he was going to talk. And I thought, well, since I can't go to the movies, at least I will go for free to listen to flying saucers.

And the man who talked at that evening lecture was very interesting. Instead of talking about little green men, he talked about how the psyche of the Europeans had been traumatized by the war, and now they're projecting flying saucers into the sky.

He talked about how the mandalas of ancient Hindu religion were kind of projected into the sky as an attempt to regain some sense of order after the chaos of war.

And this seemed very interesting to me. And I started reading his books after that lecture. And that was Carl Jung, whose name or work I had no idea about.

Then I came to this country to study psychology and I started trying to understand the roots of happiness. This is a typical result that many people have presented, and there are many variations on it. But this, for instance, shows that about 30 percent of the people surveyed in the United States since say that their life is very happy. And that hasn't changed at all.

Whereas the personal income, on a scale that has been held constant to accommodate for inflation, has more than doubled, almost tripled, in that period. But you find essentially the same results, namely, that after a certain basic point — which corresponds more or less to just a few 1, dollars above the minimum poverty level — increases in material well-being don't seem to affect how happy people are.

In fact, you can find that the lack of basic resources, material resources, contributes to unhappiness, but the increase in material resources does not increase happiness. So my research has been focused more on — after finding out these things that actually corresponded to my own experience, I tried to understand: where — in everyday life, in our normal experience — do we feel really happy? And to start those studies about 40 years ago, I began to look at creative people — first artists and scientists, and so forth — trying to understand what made them feel that it was worth essentially spending their life doing things for which many of them didn't expect either fame or fortune, but which made their life meaningful and worth doing.

This was one of the leading composers of American music back in the '70s. And the interview was 40 pages long. But this little excerpt is a very good summary of what he was saying during the interview.
